SHARE THE WONDER FAMILY FESTIVAL 2012 Starts Nov. 24th

Rockland, Maine - The Farnsworth Art museum’s traditional holiday family festival will feature passport stations; Breakers Jazz performing holiday classics in the library; a puppet show in the auditorium; cookie decorating as well as a special hands -on craft activity in the Gamble Center, carriage rides around the campus, and the Share the Wonder train display at the Wyeth Center. This program is free to the public as well as free museum admission for all.

In addition to this day's events and programs Share the Wonder will feature the following programming throughout the holiday season:

Saturday, November 24 , 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. Share the Wonder Celebration throughout the Farnsworth Campus. horse drawn carriage rides, holiday cookie decorating, live music provided by Breakers Jazz, gifts for children and adults, puppet show by Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers.
Saturday, December 1, 1 pm. The Harborside Harmony Singers will perform in the museum library.

Sunday, December 2, 2 p.m.
The Breakwater Bells bell choir will perform in the museum library.
Saturday, December 8, Two Sessions: 9 a.m. and 10 a.m.
Gingerbread House Decorating Workshop at the Gamble Education Center, on Union and Grace Streets. Suggested donation: $5 per family.

Saturday, December 8, 12:30 p.m.
Suomalaiset Jouset Finnis Strings perform in the museum library.

Tuesday, December 11 and Wednesday, December 12, 3:30 p.m.
Afterschool films featuring holiday classics A Charlie Brown Christmas and Rudolph the Red-Nose Reindeer. Popcorn and apple juice boxes will be provided.

Suggested for children ages 4-9. Limit of 60 each show. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Reservations required and may be made by calling 596-6457 ext. 143.

This year’s Share the Wonder celebration is underwritten by a grant from the Wyeth Foundation.
