Oregon Air National Guard Tech. Sgt. Doug Dixon, Aircraft Structural Mechanic for the 142nd Fighter Wing, places the nose art for the City of Pendleton, Ore., on an F-15 Eagle aircraft, at the Portland Air National Guard Base in Portland, Ore., June 13.
The nose art for Pendleton and the City of Battle Ground, Wash., is scheduled to be unveiled during a Cities of Honor ceremony at the Air Base during the Oregon National Guard’s Executive Briefing on June 14.
The artwork has been specially created for each jet and includes the names of these cities. The images honor the relationship between local communities and the Citizen-Airmen who reside in them.
Dixon said he hopes the program can honor more Northwest cities in the future. “I think the Cities of Honor program is great because of the wonderful support we get from the communities,” he said.
